Debbie shapes YouthTruth’s public voice by amplifying our research, and sharing stories of how schools use data to create meaningful change for young people.

She spent a decade as a reporter, focusing her work on equity and centering student voices. Debbie most recently covered higher education for the Los Angeles Times, and previously reported on K-12 schools for The Washington Post and WAMU 88.5, the NPR affiliate in Washington, D.C.

She graduated from Syracuse University, where she double majored in journalism and political science. She earned a master’s degree from American University in public affairs journalism.

Outside work, she spends her time lifting weights, reading and thrifting.
