Elmer Vivas Portillo, Analyst, analyzes quantitative and qualitative data, writes reports, and provides assessment insights to CEP clients.
Prior to joining CEP in February 2021, Elmer served as a research fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS). He was part of The Shift Project, a joint project between HKS and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) examining the precarious working conditions of U.S. service sector workers and the consequences of employer practices on various employee outcomes. Elmer graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Ethnicity, Migration, Rights. In his free time, Elmer enjoys photography, listening to music and podcasts, and eating desserts.
