Let the countdown(s) begin! There are only 57 days until Thanksgiving, 95 days until the New Year, and 188 days until the CEP Conference is back — and we’re thrilled to welcome you to our own backyard in Boston this time around!

If you are as excited as I am about springtime in Boston, you’ll be happy to know that early bird registration is officially open for CEP’s 2017 national conference, Leading Effective Foundations! The conference will be held at the historic Boston Park Plaza Hotel from Tuesday, April 4 – Thursday, April 6.

What’s the CEP Conference all about? Our biennial national conferences provide foundation executives, trustees, donors, and senior leaders with resources to maximize their effectiveness. Our 2017 conference will bring together foundation leaders and major donors from across the country to engage with the most pressing issues facing the field. Through plenaries, breakout sessions, and panels, the conference seeks to spark reflection, discussion, and action amongst attendees.

The conference is shaping up to be one that you won’t want to miss. The program is already coming together, and our lineup of confirmed speakers thus far includes leaders and luminaries from foundations, nonprofits, and academia. Scheduled speakers, among others, include:

  • Dr. Raj Chetty, professor of economics at Stanford University and MacArthur “Genius” Fellow;
  • Dr. Linsey McGoey, senior lecturer at the University of Essex and author of No Such Thing as a Free Gift: The Gates Foundation and the Price of Philanthropy (2015);
  • Vu Le, executive director of Rainier Valley Corps and author of the popular Nonprofit With Balls blog; and
  • Douglas Stone, lecturer at Harvard Law School and co-author of New York Times business bestseller, Difficult Conversations: How to Discuss What Matters Most.

If you are new to CEP’s conferences, you can read up and watch videos of past talks on our website. For example, check out this highlight video from our 2015 conference in San Francisco.

Register now to take advantage of early bird registration rates — and if you’re a CEP assessment and advisory services client or a member of Associated Grantmakers, Connecticut Council for Philanthropy, or Maine Philanthropy Center, you’re eligible for an additional discount.

Registered and ready to pack your bags? Let everyone know by tweeting with the official conference hashtag, #CEP2017!
