Cambridge, MA – After an extensive search through a strong candidate pool, the Center for Effective Philanthropy announced today that Rob Correia has joined the organization as director of finance and administration.

“I am absolutely thrilled to announce that Rob is joining us,” said Phil Buchanan, president of CEP. “He has strong skills in both the accounting and strategic financial planning aspects of the role, and he is analytically savvy and a great communicator. Rob is deeply interested in philanthropy and the nonprofit sector, and I know he will be a big part of CEP’s future and a key leader here.”

Correia brings a wealth of experience to the CEP office after holding significant leadership positions in finance and operations throughout his career. Most recently, he worked as finance manager at Taza Chocolate, where he was responsible for all financial interests of the Somerville, MA-based organic chocolate manufacturer and retailer. Prior to his role at Taza, Correia was a financial specialist for the Transportation Security Administration. There, he advised the Federal Security Director and led T.S.A.’s  financial operations at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick, RI, which serves more than 2 million travelers annually. Before assuming that role, Correia spent nine years in multiple capacities with Ocean Spray Cranberries, a Fortune 500 company, serving most notably as lead financial analyst for the Product Marketing team. Correia holds a M.S. in Management from Lesley University and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to join the smart, dedicated team at CEP,” said Correia. “I’m very much looking forward to working with Phil, the staff, and the Board of Directors. CEP’s mission and values certainly resonate with   me, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Correia will oversee the finance and administration functions at CEP, including budgeting and projections, financial reporting, strategic financial modeling, scenario and capacity planning, office management, and information technology. Reporting directly to the president, Correia will join the senior leadership team in the Cambridge, MA office.
