Navigating Uncertain Times: What is Philanthropy’s Role?

In the wake of significant funding shifts on the federal level, philanthropic investment has never been more important. The philanthropic sector is uniquely positioned to take bold, timely action to address some of the impacts that revised funding streams will have on nonprofits – we can be flexible, move nimbly and take risks that others can’t. 

ECCF, Rockland Trust and Tower Foundation invite institutional funders, private foundations and individual or family philanthropists to discuss the role that philanthropy can play in this moment and share perspectives on how funders can support grantees and each other through these uncertain times. 

The Funders Summit will include an overview discussion led by Phil Buchanan, President of The Center for Effective Philanthropy, followed by two interactive breakout sessions that will dig deeper into acute and long-term funding challenges, innovations and opportunities that funders see despite the challenges, and the varying levels of risk that funders encounter as they continue to meet their philanthropic goals and advance the issues they care about most.
