What are you up to these days?
I’m a policy analyst at the Urban Institute, a nonprofit research organization that provides data and evidence to help advance upward mobility and equity. My work at Urban focuses on nonprofits and philanthropy.

How did your time at CEP prepare you for what you are doing now?
The experience I gained at CEP prepared me for my role at Urban by helping me develop new research and data analysis skills and by building my knowledge of the nonprofit and philanthropic sector. Some examples of skills I learned at CEP include developing, programming, and administering survey instruments; creating survey and interview samples; developing interview protocols; conducting interviews; and analyzing qualitative data. I’m very grateful for the opportunities I had at CEP to learn and grow.

What do you miss most about working at CEP?
I miss the people the most. I made some great friends at CEP, and I’m glad that I’m still in touch with many of them.

What advice would you give someone about working at CEP?
Take advantage of the amazing learning opportunities CEP offers, and get to know your colleagues—even those who you don’t work with on a daily basis. CEP is a great place to learn about the sector, gain new skills, and meet great people.

Describe your perfect Sunday.
It would be a three-day weekend, and I’d be on a camping trip. I’d sleep in, and I’d wake up to the smell of somebody else cooking breakfast on the fire. After breakfast, we’d go hiking, and then we’d return for lunch. Energized from lunch, we’d go hiking again, and then we’d cool off in the lake. Afterwards, we’d make dinner and s’mores on the fire. Then we’d play board games for the rest of the night.
