What are you up to these days?
I will be working as a Consultant for a social impact/development consulting firm called Dalberg learning more about how the private, public and NGO sectors are thinking about and trying to achieve impact.
How did your time at CEP prepare you for what you are doing now?
My time at CEP has helped me in 3 key ways: 1). The analytical skills that I developed here have made effective quantitative and qualitative data analysis second nature to me, which has made coming up with key insights in my new role very efficient, 2.) Considering many of our clients are foundations, understanding philanthropic best practices and the benefits of addressing donor-grantee power dynamics has allowed me to develop recommendations that reflect CEPs body of knowledge and ultimately lead to a more effective solution and 3). CEPs commitment to DEI and self reflection has allowed me to better understand myself, my biases and how I work with others which has led me to become a better and more self-aware co-worker and person.
What do you miss most about working at CEP?
I will miss the tight-knit community that is CEP and all the ice-cream, and passionate philosophical debates that come with it.
What advice would you give someone about working at CEP?
Take advantage of all of the institutional knowledge available and don’t be afraid to take the initiative on something you think would help CEP make a greater impact.
Describe your perfect Sunday.
Running through Golden Gate Park (and earning myself a burrito), exploring the bay with friends and reading a good thought provoking book.
