It’s back to school season, and whether or not you are preparing to send kids off to new grades or return to the classroom yourself, this time offers the opportunity to embrace a “back to school” mindset. We return from vacations and hazy, hot summer days and gather our energies and new stationery to take on the challenges of the fall season: end-of-year planning, budgeting, and even launching 2025 planning. With that in mind, we wanted to share some updates from CEP and YouthTruth as well as some resources and opportunities to help you listen to your key stakeholders – including youth – as you gear up for fall.

David McKinney will join CEP as vice president of YouthTruth in early November 2024, leading all aspects of YouthTruth’s work to help schools, districts, and funders systematically listen to young people and strategically apply data to improve the outcomes and experiences of students.

“David McKinney is an incredibly talented and experienced leader with a deep belief that we need to listen and learn from young people if we’re to achieve our hopes of a just and equitable society,” said CEP President Phil Buchanan.
