November 3, 2021: Wisconsin Philanthropy Network’s Statewide Conference

November 3, 2021,1:30 pm - 2:45 pm

Lifting Community Voice

“We don’t do advocacy.” It’s a common refrain for philanthropic entities who aren’t sure about work in advocacy. However, philanthropy has a history of advocating for social causes such as housing, education, and the arts. According to the 2020 Center for Effective Philanthropy report three-quarters of foundation CEO’s said they have increased policy efforts over the past three years by hiring dedicated staff to work alongside community leaders, educating legislators and investing in organizations.

Hear from funders and stakeholders that believe the solutions to today’s community challenges can be found in the hearts and minds of those receiving services.

This session will explore how funders can directly support community organizing in pursuit of lasting solutions.
